How quickly should my products update?

Saving a category rule immediately starts re-evaluating your products. Processing usually takes from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the size of your catalogue.

Why did a product update not change its categories?

BigCommerce only notifies the app when certain product fields change. See How products are processed for the affected fields and processing schedule.

If you need to update categories immediately, force product reprocessing.

What should I try when a rule does not work?

Temporarily simplify complex rules to one condition. Once that condition works, add the remaining conditions one at a time. This helps identify which field, operator, or value needs attention.

Why can I not view the app in the BigCommerce admin?

BigCommerce does not support embedded apps in Safari or in private browsing windows. In these cases, Automated Categories provides an option to open the app in a separate tab.
